Chapter 5 Daily Routine

That night I told Sammy more about the Nost. I told her all that I knew about it. When sunrise was coming she said she should get some sleep. So Sammy lay back down, and went to bed. I sat there and looked. Long after sunrise Sammy's Dad came in. I read his mind before he came in and was already for him to come. He was going to say that the wolf escaped and that he was sorry that it might not make it. But when he walked it he was surprised to see me there.

Then his mind raced. I knew why. Wolves are supposed to kill humans, but when he saw that his daughter was not even hurt he was relived and in a way happy. He left the room without a sound. Not to long after Sammy woke up. She rubbed her eyes. When she saw me she looked confused then she remembered what happened last night.

Good morning Sammy.

Hi, Tuff. How did you sleep.

I didn't.

Why?

Well I'm still not to sure about being around humans.

Oh, well do you need to go out side?

I would like to.

OK just remember you can't run off and get lost because you still need to make a full recovery. Plus the forest ranger still has to check on you.

OK.

After that Sammy had me leave her room and go down stairs to the "living room". In a bit she joined me down stairs. We went outside for a little bit. We ran around. I had not realised how big I was. I could tell it was just the beginning of fall but there was snow on the ground.

I ran ahead. I loved the feel of the wind in my fur. I was at home. Then I remembered Moge, Salka, and Gart. I had to help them but the human would be sad if I left without being fully healed.

I ran back to the cabin were Sammy was waiting for me. She had me go back inside and try to lay down and sleep. I did sleep. Day after day after day we would run. I would sleep afterward. Then while I was sleeping they would get food and water ready. They would wake me up. Feed me and give me some water. I would sleep till late then me and Sammy would run again. Then we would go to bed. This was everyday routine till he came.
